Open Conversations Part 2

Hi everyone,

Super excited to share...

This is part 2 of my collaboration with Spoonie Mama http://spoonie-mama.com/index.php/2018/05/29/it-takes-a-village-part-2/

Specifically talking about tips and strategies to manage mental health, or support a loved one who is experiencing mental illness. I am excited to have had Spoonie Mama's input from her lived experience coupled with my knowledge and experience from working as a Psychologist. Its such a good fit and touches on both "sides of the coin" if you will.

Talking about mental health is important. It is just as important as physical health, yet we sometimes feel ashamed to seek help for mental distress. If you broke your leg you would seek treatment...but depression, anxiety, PTSD etc are sometimes treated as fictitious, figments of imagination or evidence of malingering. They are just as important people!!!! You are not any less for seeking help....it actually shows your strength to be vulnerable and ask for support.

Please keep this message going...share far and wide, talk to your loved ones, reflect on your own experiences....and reach out!!! There is no need to go through this journey alone!
